John is re-elected
John Purvis was re-elected on June 10, 2004, to serve
as one of Scotland's seven members of the European Parliament.
John who was second on the Conservative list after Struan
Stevenson said the vote had been on a knife-edge. "I
am very privileged to have five more years to serve
my constituency of Scotland. The purpose of the next
period is to help businesses and the people of Scotland
to make full use of what the European Parliament can
do for them. The Parliament is often misunderstood but
there is a lot it can do to help Scots people and businesses
to grasp the opportunities that Europe offers them."
